It is one thing to take a position on an issue. It is what makes our country free. It is even okay to take an extreme position on an issue. But when you advocate violence for your ideals you need to be accountable. Words matter.

There are people out there like Joe Stack and Scott Roeder and Timothy McViegh. Many more people like them. Your words matter. If you want to change the minds of the American public you need to do it through civil discourse.

Flying a plane into a building was an act of terrorism on 9/11. It still is. The size of the plane does not matter, nor does the citizenship of the pilot.

Check These Items That Fit Your Belief System, and the type of America you wish to be a part of

[ ] A nation is an organic community that requires strong leadership

[ ] Authoritarian nationalism with a corporatist economic system

[ ] Ability to commit violence and wage war in order to keep the nation strong

[ ] Identifies violence and war as actions that create national regeneration

[ ] Resists autonomy of cultural or ethnic groups

[ ] Blames capitalism and liberal democracies

[ ] Advocates a single-party state

I will bet none of you checked any of these. If you did, maybe one or two.  Yet if this does not spell the former Bush Administration, The Tea Party Movement, The incessant filibusters of the current minority party even on legislation they would normally support, and even many of you well educated Americans that for whatever reason cannot see the plain truth that is before you.

This list is Glen Beck

This list is Bill O’Reilly

This list is Sean Hannity

This list is Fox News (sic)

This list is the Patriot Act

This list is two wars we still wage

This list is why you do not see a single Black, Asian, or Hispanic face in a Tea party crowd

This list is Sarah Palin

This list is Rush Linbaugh

This list is the Federal Reserve

This list is Wall Street

This list is the Health Insurance mobsters

This list is Wal-Mart

This list is what many in the Christian right have become

…This list is the very definition of FASCISM

I really do not know but I would suspect many do. So much of the Tea Party movement is sponsored by fallen Republicans and big business.

There are actually many things these people are for that I actually agree with.

- I agree that both Parties have been bought and sold by special interest and big business

- I agree we need to pay down the Federal Deficit

- I agree that many of our civil liberties have been compromised by scary legislation like the Patriot act.

- I believe the Federal Reserve needs to be abolished or radically reformed

- I believe we never ratified the 16th ammendment that is the basis for Federal income tax

What I do not agree with is their hypocrisy. If you are for fiscal responsibility in Government then you are for fiscal responsibility in Government. You are not just for it when the Democrats are in office.

You do not get to forget that the last fiscally responsible President was a Democrat (and this is coming from someone whose mother sent him a “Countdown to Clinton Calendar” when he was elected as I was a Bush guy).

You do not get to forget that Reagan ran up the Federal deficit by 1.34 trillion dollars in his eight years. If you adjust this number for inflation using the CPI the figure is 2.63 trillion.

You do not get to forget that Bush 1 racked up .93 trillion in four years (or 1.44 trillion adjusted for inflation). Or, Bush the younger racked up 1.78 trillion in his first seven years along. This did not include his 800 billion dollar medicaid drug prescription bill, or quite a bit of debt financed outside of the Federal Budget for the Iraq war.

You do not forget these things. For those of you folks on the fringe that have been consistent in your position that you do not like any government I can respect your position even if I do not agree with it.

For the rest of you, take a look in the mirror so you can see what hypocrisy looks like.

Next time you pull into that Walmart parking lot congratulate yourself on all those U.S. Factories your purchases are responsible for closing.

“Always low prices, Always”

But be proud in the knowledge that those Jeans you just bought made someone in Indonesia, paid enough to buy a 1/2 cup of rice.

Medicare is clearly an entitlement program. It is also technically “socialized” medicine. We each pay 1.45% and your employer has to pay a matching amount. If you are earning $100,000 a year (close to 2 times the national average) you had a grand total of $3000.00 toward medicare. If you were 21 years old and tried to find a healthcare policy equivalent to medicare you cold not find one at 3 times that price. Try finding private insurance at age 65.

So here is my idea/offer.

I think the government should let anyone that is against socialized medicine opt out of medicare. They will rebate the 1.45% you have paid in back to you, but you are offically out of medicare and they are off the hook. I wonder how many of you tea party people would sign up for that deal.

Do you think Big Business, Rush Limbaugh, and other millionaires like Dick Armey are going to help you out? Think again. You are a nothing more than pawn in their game. And, oh how you are being played.

“Fox News anchor Sean Hannity will deliver the keynote address at the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraising dinner next month.”

“Glenn Beck To Keynote CPAC”

What is wrong with this picture?

People are concerned about the preservation of our constitution and we have a “news” organization sending its personalities to speak at Republican events.

How exactly is this fair and balanced?

Is there anyone on the right with an ounce of decency and sense left?

How exactly can a news organization justify sending its employees to one parties events as keynote speakers and claim to be fair and balanced?

It really does not matter as the GOP has been taken over by the KKK, The John Birch Society, Secessionists, and every other fringe group one can think of.

Hmmmmmm, a news organization run by someone that had to become a US citizen in order to own US television stations is now openly sending his media personalities to GOP events, funding and sponsoring citizen groups that oppose the current administration.

Anyone out there that thinks this is okay does not understand democracy, and does not believe in democracy.

In 7 of the 8 years Bush was in office we received a tax cut. Since I do want to spark civil unrest I will not even tell you what people with incomes over 100,000 got out of the deal (much more than the numbers you see below).

My source for this information is 100% solid. I used the IRS Tax Tables to determine this information. If you think I am snowing you, Google and look for yourself. They are readily available on the net.

If you were married with a total income of $25,000 your average tax break over his 8 years was $2.80 a month.

If you were married with a total income of $50,000 your average tax break over his 8 years was $7.55 (1.1%) a month.

If you were married with a total income of $95,000 your average tax break over his 8 years was $39.55 (2.8%) a month.

Share with me how those numbers increased the quality of your life? As I said, these are not B.S. numbers, they are straight out of the tax tables you and I use to file our taxes.

So, what did this cost us? [This is where Macro and Micro are worlds apart]

The Bush tax cuts will cost the American Public $2.48 trillion over the 2001-2010 period. This includes the revenue loss of $2.11 trillion that results directly from the Bush tax cuts as well as the $379 billion in additional interest payments on the national debt. The tax cuts were DEBT FINANCED! China I believe covered most of the costs.

Americans First

January 20, 2010 | Leave a Comment

I am not buying the sudden movement against the Government. It is false as it is aimed at the Obama administration. I will agree that government spending is out of control and needs to be dealt with (though now is NOT the time).

-Debt at Obama Inaguration: 10.6 trillion

-Budget Deficits incurred during Reagans 8 years: 1.34 trillion dollars

-Budget Deficits incurred during G. H. Bush’s 4 years: 933 billion

-Budget Deficits incurred during Clinton’s 8 years: 320 billion

-Budget Deficits incurred during G. W. Bush’s first 6 years: 1.63 trillion

(note: those deficit figures are real dollars. They have not been adjusted for inflation using the CPI)

Clinton has three years of surplusses and turned over what was a budget surplus for Bush’s first year in office. I liked Clinton as a president, I liked his fiscal policy.

For the record I liked Reagan and Bush 1, though I did not like that they ran deficits. In Reagans case, I could cut him some slack his first term as he inherited an economy that was in pretty rough shape. By the way, unemployment during Reagans first fours years was 7.62, 9.71, 9.60, 7.51% respectively.

So folks, lets cut through the bullshit right here and right now. Which party has put us in the most debt? Again, he inherited quite an economic mess, though nothing on the scale of what President Obama inherited.

I you are really for our government balancing the budget and paying down the debt start with the facts. Your partisan nonsense is so transparent it is laughable! The Republican jokers talking about fiscal responsibility are the same idiots that put us into this debt to begin with. All of a sudden they have fiscal religion. Give me a break.

Direct your anger where it belongs. Bankers and mortgage lenders that ran financial institutions like casinos. Show anger against investment banks like Goldman Sachs that bought risky mortgage paper, packaged and sold them as securities and if that was not enough, then took out financial instraments (termed hedges) that bet against these investments and made them insane amounts of money when they tanked. Much of those profits came from our bailout.

You want to be pissed off, be pissed off at your neighbors that racked up unsustainable credit card debt and mortgaged their houses to the hilt. They are grand contributors to this mess.

You want to pissed off, be pissed off at big business that was losing money and giving themselves huge bonuses. How in the hell is that capitalism?

Be pissed off at the media circus that reports the news these days like it is a reality television show. Be pissed off at the numbskulls lying to you about what is actually in the health care bill.

One more thing.

Now, how many of you don’t want a healthcare bill that will protect you for being dropped if you have a pre-existing condition. A bill that would allow you to keep your adult children on your private plan until they are 26 (you of course have to pay for the increased premiums). A plan that does not change a single thing for those of you that are already covered under private insurance other than adding those two items I just mentioned.

You can be a Republican, you can be a Democratic. You can have an opinion on pretty much anything you want. But, you need to cut the bullshit and start being Americans and showing your President some respect. And, back your position up with facts, not spin. There is nothing I hate more than spin and people trying to bullshit me.

Why anyone would want that damn job is beyond me.

The right wing wants you to believe that the Obama administration is destroying the America we once new and loved.

To quote a 17 year old on their iPhone texting…  OMG

Sure lets get back to those simpler times like the time …

- Woman were not allowed to vote.

- Lynchings were common.

- 24% of Americans were unemployed.

- We put Japanese and German AMERICAN citizens in internment camps.

- Our president had us involved in a secret war in Cambodia.

- The national guard killed innocent students at Kent state.

- Iranian extremest captured and held American citizens.

- Businesses has signs in their storefronts saying “Whites Only.”

- An alcoholic congressman destroyed the lives of countless Americans claiming they were communists.

- Chicago Policeman shot in the back fleeing unarmed protesters outside of Republic Steel.

- The “trail of tears” where our Federal Government relocated the American Indian from their land and did it such a humane fashion that 4000 of 15,000 Cherokee died of starvation or disease en route.

- We recklessly farmed the land in the great plains states and turned it in a worthless dust bowl

- Banks gambled people money in the Stock Market, closed their doors and all their depositors got screwed because we had no FDIC

- Interest rates on home loansd were 18%

- We waited in gas lines a mile long

- Slavery was legal

- Watergate… and our president resigning in disgrace

- Iran-Contra Affair

- Extremest shit bags flew airplanes and destroyed two sky scrapers, our Pentagon, and in the process killed 2974 people died and thousands of families and friends were affected.

- We came a hair away from nuclear war at the bay of pigs

Yes Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, O’Reilly and the rest of you douche-bags that would not want to let a fact get in the way of the insane windbag crap you spew each day. Let’s return to the good ‘ol days. They were a much simpler time.

Oh, and I would like to thank each of you patriots for your military service. Oh, forgot, none of you served.

If anyone is destroying America it would be you stooges. Fortunately most of America is not ignorant enough to listen to you jokers. And, many of us served in the military so that you chowder-heads would have the freedom to speak your nonsense.

Your welcome.

He’s said to be a Buddhist; I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, ‘Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.’

What can one say but Wow.

I do not wish to talk about Britt Hume. What bugs me is the lack of Christian response. As a Christian I am offended by his remarks. If you pick up and actually read the Gospels what you will find is little that represents the attitudes and actions of much of fundamentalist Christians in our country today.
Years ago a Catholic priest, Joseph Girzone, wrote a series of books where the theme was what would happen if Christ came back. The premise was that the Christian church would reject him as a crackpot, similar to what the Jewish leaders did to him back in his day.

But I also do not want to talk about how so many of these people have hijacked Christianity and turned it into something that has little to do with the message of Christ and the New Testament.

I want to talk about God. God is bigger than all our religions. God does not take sides with extremest Muslims that want to wipe blow infidels off the face of the earth. God does not take the side of suburban Christians that condemn homosexuals and make them feel that they are somehow less human than those that are not.

I find it interesting that not once did Jesus say a thing about homosexuals. The guy hung out with prostitutes and other “dregs” of his day. He called out the religious leadership of the day on numerous occasions for their hypocrisy and even for trying to get him involved in politics.

If you actually read through the New Testament irrespective to your religion, or belief in God and then answer the question, “If Christ came back today which group would he likely be tearing a new one to” the overwhelming conclusion would be a large section of mainstream fundamentalist Christian leadership.
The fact remains that everyone of us… you, me… everyone is just plain messed up. So, next time you are looking to pass judgement on your neighbor, do yourself a favor and take a good long look in the mirror. And, one does not need to be a biblical scholar to know the truth in that statement!

PS - Buddhists, please accept my apology for the insensitive remarks of Mr. Hume.

The Republican party to the core is morally bankrupt and obstructionist. If you work at Fox News, are named Rush Limbaugh, or are one of their shrinking base you would not think so. For the rest of American (the majority) we see you for who you are. We see that party over country is your mantra.

You are sorry excuses for Americans. You may win some seats back in the 2010 elections. Winning back seats in areas of the country that are conservative and went to conservative Democrats (assuming you can even manage this) will not be that big of a deal.

Most of America (including many in the Tea Party movement) are not so stupid and see right through you. Assuming you can survive as a party it will be quite some time and take real, substantative action on your part to get back the trust of America.

Ronnie and Dwight are rolling over in their graves! You will never again get my vote.
