In my lifetime I never recall a Governor talking about succeeding from the Union. I find this just remarkable.

I do recall Govenor Wallace blocking the steps of the University of Alabama in an effort to stop two black students from registering. I also recall the showdown between him and Deputy Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach (with the National Guard in tow, and Alabama State Troopers surrounding the building for George). George W. wisely backed down.

Maybe Rick P. needs to pull his head out and back down as well.

Each day more new and compelling evidence emerges that SCREAMS of opening a criminal investigation into illegal activties carried out during the Bush Administration.

I started to write about derivatives tonight, but these thought struck me, and frankly, they are far more important than our economy.

President Obama, you know deep down the evidence calls for an investigation. We are talking about letting this matter be dealt with by our justice department. You sir, are playing politics. If the Bush administration truly did nothing wrong, then they wilol be vindicated when they get their day in court. I suppose you are waiting to see the smoking gun?

Then again, we have had many dark periods in our history. Let’s take a quick high level inventory here. American Indians. Slavery. Civil War. Need I say more?

I am not defending the sick and twisted individuals that hijacked planes and wiped out so many innocent people. None of us our naive enough not to realize that there are many others out there that given the opportunity would repeat 9/11 again given the opportunity. It is very likely in the next ten years that we will see a major metropolitan area somewhere in the world wiped out by a nuclear device detonated by terrorists or a rogue nation. This stuff is scary for all of us.

But, illegal is illegal. Torture is torture. Three planes hit three buildings and caused us to carry out and do things to people as horrific and frightening as they did to us. The fact is, when we were in that moment even the most liberal among us wanted our “pound of flesh.” We were all guilty, even if our sin was looking the other way.

Something on a 9/11 or greater scales happens again and there is no telling what we might become.

It has not gone unnoticed by most of us the lack of transparency and accountability there has been for our financial institutions that became Casino’s for so long. All we have appeared to do is transfer debt from these numbskulls to the American public. Where are the regulations? Where is the day of reckoning that was promised to us? This has not and will not slip by us!

I think Cilfford Alexander, former Secretary of the Army, said it best that we should afford people that are willing to die for their country the decency of being themselves. I am a veteran and think it is time to get rid of “don’t ask, don’t tell.” The military code of conduct is more than enough for anyone of any gender and sexual orientation to adhere to.

 We need to move forward and get this done. As for people like Hannety, Limbaugh, and O’Reilly that never served a day in their life I would like to say “be quiet.” But, this is America.

At any time in our history we exist and prosper as a democracy because of our divergent ideas. We are going through a time in our history where we need to hear as many divergent ideas as we can. After we have heard them, we need to make our decisions and then everyone needs to get in the same boat and start rowing in the same direction.

Liberal media, start putting more people on the left on your programs that have good ideas. These people are out there and you know it. Keith, Ed, Rachael… come on…

Moderate Republicans, how about showing some stones and standing up to the idiots in your party that have hijacked it. Come up with some real plans. Accept your current role as the minority and start working with our President to solve the problems we face. If you come to the table with viable ideas and are not heard it will resonate with the American people. However, I believe you will be heard. Ignore Rush Limbaugh! His message these days really only appeals to skinheads and the clan. 

This is not a reality show we are dealing with here, this is reality.
