Both Cream and Scum can Rise.

It is true. And, no business, organization, or political party is immune. All of us like to surround ourselves with people “of like mind.” In places where there is a ladder to climb, sometimes clueless, butt-kissers make it into power.
Conservatism is not dead. I believe we have for the first time in a long time an administration that will listen to an idea on the merits of the idea and not reject it based upon the source that presented it. We need some intelligent conservatives on the scene.
I heard Colin Powell’s name today and thought, yes, there are still some good conservatives left out there. Maybe the Republican party can pull their heads out and lure these type of people back into so the fold so we could get some ideas that did not sound like they were coming from the KKK or Skinheads.

Trivial Forms of Communication - Just Say No
March 22, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Instance message, text messaging, and most recently Twitter.
What exactly can one say of any substance via these means? I am not saying that these forms of communication may not have an appropriate time and place. I can see a quick communication stating you will be five minutes late as an appropriate form of communication.
Having said that it is time we get real here. I would venture that 99% of the collective communication we make via these trivial forms is indeed trivial and unnecessary. I would also contend that these forms of communication serve to undermine other serious forms of communication.
How many times have you been in a room listening to people cell phones beeping with incoming text messages of earth shattering importance?
***ru there***
Congressman Twittering during legislative sessions, when they should be taking care of our national business. People twittering and texting during meetings. It is called Twit for a reason
…
Oh, you are just not being current with the times.
BULLSHIT!
These forms of communication may have a very limited place and time, but for the most part are about as socially important and relevant as the Pet Rock and Smile Button. No, let me take that back, they are less important.
And, unlike the Pet Rock and Smile Button they are doing great harm to the social fabric of our world.

Just Incredible
March 16, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Usually when you are under a microscope one finds it wise to lay low. Well, the Bozos at AIG apparently did not get that memo.
I am pleased to see our President and his Administration call out these numbskulls. If Capitalism is going to end it will be due to the morons running AIG and other companies responsible for the current fiasco.
What these corkballs really should be doing is getting fitted for the orange jumpsuits they will soon be wearing. It will be the regulations that the Obama Administration and our Congress come up with that will save capitalism.
Each day I listen to what these folks are up to and cannot help but think, “surely these folks can’t top this tomorrow”, and sure as shit, the next day they manage to top the day before.
What do you jokers have planned for tomorrow?

What kind of Socialism is best for Americans?
March 9, 2009 | Leave a Comment
For the past ten years we have deregulated business to the point that it drove us into the current crapper we are now all flushing in.
Greed and stupidity at unprecendented levels lead us into this mess. Companies “too big to fail” really are too big to fail. The only real alternative is government intervention.
The question is what type of government intervention…
A) Give billions more to the “good ‘ol boy” numbskulls that got us into this mess.
B) Take over these “Too big to Fail” companies and throw the bastards out and clean up their mess.
It would be much cheaper to buy the common stock of these failing companies and choose option B. I think this would make most Americans feel more confident about the direction we are headed.
Obama Administration, show some stones and make it happen. The American people are behind you.

This is really about people, not statistics
March 3, 2009 | 1 Comment
I often feel compelled to site statistics in my post. Mostly to address the disinformation we have been receiving from the media.
The other day I stopped into our local Thriftway across from the park-n-ride. It is closing. A good business, run by good people. Some of the checkers were looking though a scrapbook of pictures telling stories. Real people, real lives. Sad.
Recently my work had a big reduction in force. People I have known for more than a decade gone. Good people. Hard workers, families to support, people that depend on them. Sad.
I go into my local Home Depot and McClendons hardware, both stores with great service in a time where service is usually an after-thought. Like most retail businesses they are struggling. Sad.
I listen to baffoons at CPAC, publicly saying they hope our President and Congress fails. I wonder what America these people are living in. Good, hard working peoples lives have been turned upside-down by the greed of a few. They are worried about the end of capitalism? Maybe capitalism ended when our financial institutions took our money and turned their businesses into Casino’s?
If you have the means, support your favorite stores. I am not talking about going into more consumer debt spending. I am saying if you have the resources maybe this is a good time to paint your living room, or treat yourself to dinner at your favorite local restaurant.
Keep working for us Mr. President. Enough of us are with you that we can make a difference.

Patriotism?
March 2, 2009 | Leave a Comment
CPAC and the Republican party. We are in the middle of one of the greatest economic crisis in the past 60 years. It may turn out that our current situation is even worse than the great depression.
Tom Delay (indicted ex Speaker of the House), Rush Limbaugh (drug addict), Rick Santorum (former US Senator) all have publicly stated that they hope Obama fails.
Patriotism is defined as “Love for or devotion to one’s country.”
Unless they are suggesting an insurrection what exactly are these idiots trying to accomplish by wanting our current leader to fail. Failure at this point in the game is going to end life and liberty as you and I know it. As Americans, even these morons have the right of freedom of speech.
Their behavior is outrageous, and Anti-American. Right up their with skinheads, neo-nazis, and the KKK.

Time to Seize Failing Financial Institutions
March 2, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Look, We need to give 45 billion more to Bank of America. Billions more to AIG. Our government is giving more money than these companies current market capitalization to keep them afloat. This is not socialism how? Why would we want to give these sums of money to companies being operated by the same inept leadership that created these problems.
Folks, there are generally accepted accounting practices as well as banking regulations that these institutions are supposed to follow. Additionally, there is strict criteria that loans need to go through when they go through underwriting. Yet, they have created such a nightmare with their books they are unable to untangle the good assets from the bad assets. Also, make no mistake about it, these businesses have committed major fraud and highly unethical behavior.
It is time to cut the crap, come in seize these companies in distress, dismiss their boards and fire their senior leadership and start to untangle this mess. We can weather the media storm of the right screaming socialism as these people have just about become collectively useless as a functioning group. Pay them the current market captalization, take over, clean house, install new leadership and clean the mess up!
Fact is, the government put Continental bank into receivership in the 80’s as it was deemed to big to fail, ran it for many years, unravelling and untangelling the good assets and selling them to other banks. This occured during the Reagan era and I do not beleive this turned us into socialists.

President Obama, Congress… If you want to keep your jobs and our Republic intact read this!
March 1, 2009 | Leave a Comment
So much is happening so fast it is hard to keep up. I did not like passing a 1000 page bill with less than 24-hours to review. NO ONE liked it, and it is not what accountability and transparency are all about.
You had better not sign a Budget into law that is filled with pork. Fact is, most of us really do not trust Congress, Republican or Democrats. Our President is our last hope for trust and real change.
Getting through these economic times is going to be hard as it is. Putting through spending aimed at special interests is not going to fly. You need to get this right.
