Post Season Baseball

It is especially fun for the guys that are playing the game. How many people get to have their childhood dream become their occupation? If only for a brief interlude. I mean you really don’t think for a moment that these guy grow up at some point has to say. “Ya know I am not much good at anything else so I guess I have to be a big leaguer”.
Today there are two races happening in the NL. All San Diego has to do is win one game with two to go and they are in. The Mets and Corlorado are on their heals still with a shot. One hundred and sixty games and months later hope still spring eternal for three teams. the Phillies are also half game up with the Mets winning today. The Phils are currently choking (now there is something new). So, even if San diego holds on right now with an two innings to go and a one run lead over Milwaukee, the Mets still have a hope that tomorrows game counts.
Milwaukee folded up at the end and the Cubs closed them out and are in the post season with their manager “Sweet Lou”. Milwakee is out of the wildcard hunt. They are playing San Diego for pride. San Diego would not want it any other way. If Lou could take Chicago to win the world series he would become eligable for sainthood, or even more important. Mayor of Chicago. And, he would not even have to worry about keeping the snow off of the road! But, remember Steve Bartman and remember the Billy Goat.
San Diego… so close to going to the post season. Old Timer Greg Maddux with another shot at the post season. Trevor Hoffman now on the mound for San Diego in the 9th trying to close it out. Two out, man on second 2-1 count. And, ironically who is at bat for Milwaukee…Tony Gwynn’s son. What does he do…triple to right. Now bottom nine, Brewers can win with a hit…Hope really does spring eternal. Man, I love this game.

Bumbershoot and the Frames Rock
September 9, 2007 | Leave a Comment
If your every in Seattle around labor day our annual music festival Bumbershoot is a great event. Maybe it ain’t no Bonnoroo, but it still is a great time. I went with my daugter and we had a great time.
If you ever get a chance to see the Frames live do it. They are a great live band, involve the audience. Their frontman Glenn Hansard is a mad irishman. We also saw the Mother Truckers, The Damnwells, Steve Earle, Allison Moorer. All very good.
Great music, great food, no rain!
